OC Transpo App Reviews

Does not even have University of Ottawa as a stop. There is no trip planner, just maps. The search facility is almost useless. This app needs to be scrapped and a new one with some functionality needs to be written. This is a unglorified map with a search function that doesnt work. 0 stars not 1 star.

It doesnt work on iOS 8.3 either....fix this, surely its not that difficult !

Freezes when on map and you try and zoom in and select a bus stop. Makes it useless.

I check this on every time I plan my bus routes for the next day. When Im familiar with which routes I need, using this is faster and gives me more choices than using the website planner. And its more accurate than Google Maps so I always double check Google Maps suggestions here, especially for buses that alternates between short and long routes, like the 97. Its nice that I can just save and check all my usual bus stops with one tap without access to Internet. Its good at predicting when Ill get to my destination too. Thanks!

Its June 28. Major new routes and route schedules go into effect today and has OCTranspo got these updates available on their My Transit app? Of course not! Someone really should tell these clowns that of they want people to take them seriously when they develop an app like this, they need to maintain it properly. For instance, the updates should be available the day the new schedules kick in. All theyve managed so far is a notice that you should download the update, but they forgot to actually provide the update itself! These people are their own worst enemy.

The GPS function when finding "my location" is glitchy sometimes, sometimes causing the app to crash. Sometimes it will update when a bus is running late, sometimes it will show a bus at the stop when it definitely isnt. Sometimes I open the app and theres a schedule update required to use it, but no schedule available to download. Sometimes, sometimes, sometimes, sometimes. Do better! For such an unreliable and hugely overpriced public transit service ($3.55/ride??!!) the least the riders deserve is a more dependable application.

Keep being told there is a new schedule and an update to be load but nothing happens when you hit the download button. Typical of this App.

Does not actually show where the buses are right now! Use OCTracker instead, the city has the GPS data but wont use it! It just guesses where the bus is & is wrong most of the time.

Really like the app... Wish you could organize your favourites.

Like the new app, easy to use. Much better now that most busses are paying attention to the "timed stop" to avoid being too early or too late. The thing that Im missing is the actual trip planner this app replaced. Is there a way to integrate this back into the app for easier route planning?

When using this app add two minutes to the time and do not follow the bus (when you click on the next bus time to see where it is) because most of the time the bus is two stops ahead. Weird thing is it depends on the route. Due to this Ive missed buses leaving work when the stop is at the end of the driveway. I find bus buddy is more accurate then the actual oc transpo app.

Why does the map not locate my device? It use to do it when I clicked the arrow on the left (your left) corner and a blue dot would appear to show me where i was. Please fix

Works very well and real time bus arrival feature in on point. I dont know what I would do without it

Very useful app. Now even better now that it has an icon on iPads. A universal app would be nice, but that is a big ask, and the iPhone version works well enough. Tip: find the bus stops you use most often and set them as favourites

This app doesnt deserve your download, just like this extremely subpar transit company doesnt deserve the ridiculous amount of money they charge for poor service.

Redirected to their website to plan a trip. I only found this app useful for GPS updated stop times. Bus Buddy app is much better because you can plan a trip without leaving the app. Also the constant updates are annoying.

App does not show times for route 20 Downtown in the mornings!

OK - very simple app - yet it excludes all of running IOS 4 - why?

With GPS it should be possible to show me a map with the buses animated driving around. I am disappoint.
